A Lodger by Lucas Knipscher

Figura Avulsa is thrilled to present A Lodger, Lucas Knipscher’s first solo exhibition in Portugal, featuring a new body of work ranging from sculpture to painting. The exhibition will open on October 25th, from 5—7 PM, with a sound performance by Vacation and a reception for the artist.
A Lodger can be visited by appointment through December 7th, 2025.

This current body of work continues Knipscher’s ongoing engagement with how images shape our environment and ourselves. The work began with reading a diary entry from Susan Sontag, that gives no details, just the unemotional recording of a late night visit to a 5th Ave diner with Paul Thek and Jasper Johns...

Lucas Knipscher is a photographer living and working in Brooklyn, NY.
