Between Kitchens by Tomer Aluf

Figura Avulsa is thrilled to present a solo exhibition by Tomer Aluf — Between Kitchens — to open at Figura Avulsa on Sunday April 13, 2025, 5—8PM.

In the first kitchen, now Figura Avulsa, Tomer Aluf presents a series of paintings using: Cadmium Yellow Deep, Cadmium Red Deep, Flesh Tone, Titanium White, Chromatic Black, shoes, eye lashes, knees, rocks, fish, bones, Pablo Picasso’s painting after Luncheon on the Grass by Édouard Manet, Emerald Green, Cobalt Green, and Viridian.

In the second kitchen, Aluf presents drawings made on paper found in his current studio located in the former sports association, Sport Lisboa Lapa in Rua de Buenos Aires in Estrela.

Tomer Aluf lives and works in Brooklyn, NY, and Lisbon, Portugal.
He has held solo exhibitions at Tempo Rubato Gallery, Tel Aviv and New York (2015–2017); Hamidrasha Gallery, Tel Aviv (2018); Peter Makebish Gallery, New York (2016); Retrospective Gallery, Hudson, NY (2014); and Kansas Gallery, New York (2014). His work has been included in group exhibitions at Brennan & Griffin, New York; Bodega, New York; A.D. NYC, New York; The Bronx Museum, New York; The Kitchen, New York; Soloway, Brooklyn; Cleopatra’s, Brooklyn; V1 Gallery, Copenhagen; Galerie L’inlassable, Paris; Museo Británico Americano, Mexico City; Ramat Gan Museum of Israeli Art, Israel; and Tempo Rubato Gallery, Tel Aviv.
He has received awards from the Artist Relief Grant (2021), the Pollock-Krasner Foundation (2017–2018), the Dedalus Foundation (2013), and the Rema Hort Mann Foundation (2006).
