Join Figura Avulsa and Maria João Falcão, who will be reading a baroque sonnet from a compilation of early portuguese visual poetry edited by Ana Hatherly in the 80’s — for the finissage of LAVOR.
Maria João Falcão is an actress and creator that studied theater at ESTC (Lisbon), RESAD (Madrid), École Philippe Gaulier (Paris), SITI Company (NY), and Odin Teatret (Holstebro, Denmark).
In 2019, she completed her Master's in Theatre Practices at ArtEZ, the Netherlands.
In theater, she has worked with a wide range of directors, including Paulo Ferreira, Antonino Solmer, Amândio Pinheiro, Miguel Loureiro, Miguel Moreira, André Amálio, Carlos Pimenta, André Murraças, Nuno Cardoso, Maria João Luís, André Gago, Jorge Silva Melo, João Telmo, Rodrigo Francisco, Toni Cafiero, Hugo Franco, Natália Luiza, Elmano Sancho, and Raquel S.
In 2019, she founded the company número cinco (numerocinco.org) and developed her first theater project as a creator, Sob Convite. In 2021, she created O Mestre. In 2024, she presents the project Inédito Viável.
She lives in Lisbon.
